We can’t emphasis enough the need for clients to take the time to pick the right solicitor. Costs differ but service, approachability and communication is crucial especially as you near completion. There are some excellent local ones so don’t be swayed by inexpensive (or sometimes expensive!) out of town conveyancing ‘factories’. Speak to them to get your quotation. How easy was it to get through? Did they respond straight away or did you have to chase? Did you feel like a human being or a reference number? You’ll get a feel for them from the outset. Much like estate agents, they aren’t all the same. Choose wisely as it’ll pay in the long run.
